Help start a Reading Revolution
Our vision at Wonder Stories is to make learning to read magical. We’ve made the books but now need help transforming classrooms and households.
Position 1: COO/Co-Founder
I’m looking for someone who can help build Wonder Stories as a company and its market. The ideal partner would have a strong background in:
Building out distribution channels (especially with schools)
Developing and executing marketing strategies
Applying for grants and investments
Running and managing a small startup
Believes in Wonder Stories social goal for impact
For reference, Elliott’s skill set includes:
Research and design
Writing and editing interactive stories
Programming and technology development
Payment:
We don’t have grant funding or investment yet (hopefully you can help on that end). Payment can be part time employment/equity/or commision.
Location:
Anywhere, though living in Colorado is a plus.
Start Date:
As soon as possible.
Position 2: School Sales Lead
Schools are looking for digital education solutions next year and Wonder Stories can help deliver a great at-home reading experience. Selling (or just giving our software for free) to schools is a complicated process. I’m looking for someone who can help Wonder Stories tap into distribution channels and reach 1000’s of teachers.
Teachers, prospective teachers, and former teachers are especially encouraged to reply.
This summer, I’m really looking to partner with 20 value-aligned teachers to co-create Wonder Stories together for the classroom. I need help finding those 20 teachers now. After Wonder Stories has built out more teacher-approved books, we’ll need help sharing the app with more classrooms!
Payment:
Position is paid part time or commision based.
Location:
Anywhere
Start Date:
As soon as possible.
Position 3: Social Media Marketing
Description:
Wonder Stories is looking to connect with teachers online on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. We're giving Wonder Stories out to classrooms and teachers for free but need help letting teachers know the resource is available. Focus is more on reaching out and connecting with teacher "influencers" than on daily posts.
Teachers, prospective teachers, and former teachers are especially encouraged to reply.
Payment:
Position is part time and is paid.
Location:
Anywhere
Start Date:
As soon as possible.

About Wonder Stories and mPath
mPath is a 10 year old consulting firm that specializes in measuring the subconscious emotions of children. We do this with wireless eye tracking and emotional sensors I helped invent at MIT. mPath has consulted with many kids organizations: The LEGO Group, Hasbro, Curriculum Associates, Education.Com, and IDEO. For the last two years, we have spun out a second initiative, to focus on social impact and design:
Wonder Stories is a social initiative to reinvent how kids learn to read early chapter books. Based on four years of research at the Boys & Girls Clubs, Wonder Stories knows how to make interactive digital books that keeps kids reading and wanting more. Our early research shows kids read 4 times longer when given interactive problems and mysteries to solve.
